Web design leads, filtered before you get them
A web design lead is not a business — it is a business that needs a website and does not have one. That distinction is the whole product, and it is why a generic company directory is worth nothing to you.
The filter is the value
Any directory can tell you there are four thousand businesses in your city. Only a filtered one can tell you which four hundred have no website. Doing that yourself means opening every result and checking — about six hours per hundred, most of it spent on businesses you should not call.
What a row contains
Business name, trade, city, country, address, phone, email where one exists, the website check and the date it was made. Nine columns, no filler. It opens in Excel without an import dialog and the phone numbers survive intact, which sounds trivial until a spreadsheet eats the leading plus sign.
One payment, not a subscription
You buy a list for a city and a trade, from nine dollars. There is no plan, no card kept on file, nothing to cancel. When you have worked through it, buy another or do not. A monthly fee for lead data only makes sense if you are calling every day; most freelancers are not, and end up paying for months they never opened the file.
Where the data comes from
The Overture Maps Foundation publishes local business data openly, refreshed monthly. That matters for two reasons: the source is dated, so you can tell how old a row is, and the licence is public, so the file can be used commercially without a question mark over it. Anything sold without a named source is a liability you are buying along with the leads.
How many you actually need
Fewer than people assume. At a two to three per cent close rate, fifty well-filtered leads is one or two jobs, which for a local website is already a profitable week. Buying five thousand rows is a way of feeling productive without calling anyone: the list becomes a project instead of a task, and projects get postponed. Start with the smallest package that covers a week of calling and buy again when it runs out.
See the count before paying
Choose a city and a trade and the exact number available appears before any payment. If a market is too thin to fill an order, it says so instead of taking the money.
